Citrus Soft Scrub for Green Cleaning your bathroom, sinks, oven and more

Ya’ll know how much I love easy, healthy, and effective natural cleaners. So here’s one for the books!

This little pile of white stuff is a super simple soft scrub. It works great on bathtubs, sinks, etc. and only requires 2 ingredients—the essential oils are optional, but certainly do add some degreasing action.

Now that we have two littles in the house, our bathtub is getting quite a bit more use! This scrub is perfect for quickly scrubbing off the soap ring that forms from all those bubble baths. :)

You could also try using this to clean the oven and polish silverware.

Citrus Soft Scrub

Ingredients

1/2 cup baking soda
2 tablespoons liquid castile soap
20 drops citrus essential oils (lemon, orange, grapefruit, or a combo)

Directions

In a small bowl cream together the baking soda, soap, and essential oils. If you need a bit more liquid go ahead and drizzle in a bit more castile soap so it makes a nice smooth paste.

And that’s it! Store in a glass jar and use as needed. Just be sure not to introduce any water into the jar or you could be dealing with some mold. Otherwise this should last a decent amount of time. Couple months for sure if stored properly. But, as usual, if it starts to smell a bit off go ahead and discard and make a new batch. This doesn’t make a gigantic batch so hopefully you shouldn’t have that problem.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is alkaline and kills bacteria and fungus on contact. It’s a great deodorizer, a soft abrasive, fights limescale, and helps remove water spots. It also acts as a degreaser, fights mold, and can polish and shine surfaces.

Castile Soap

Castile soap works as a degreaser, and as a general cleaner.

Essential Oils

Citrus oils work very well to help degrease and remove and dissolve gunk.
