Cardamom Rose Lip Scrub

Cardamom Rose Lip Scrub. Gently exfoliates your lips for soft silky lips | Mossy Meadow Farm

My new favorite combo is this rose cardamom duo. Can you tell? If you haven’t tried it yet, check out the Cardamom Rose Coffee Creamer. It’s so dang good!

Today’s cardamom rose recipe is not something to eat, but it is a treat for your lips! I don’t know about you, but my lips get very dry living in good ‘ol dry Montana. It doesn’t matter how much water I drink, my skin and lips always need a little extra love, especially in winter. So this little scrub is just what dry lips need. It exfoliates and moisturizes all in one. Plus it’s so simple to whip up! You are just minutes away from soft luscious lips.

Cardamom Rose Lip Scrub

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons organic cane sugar (or regular granulated if that’s what you have)

  • 2 teaspoons apricot oil (almond oil would also work)

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons rosehip seed oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon castor oil

  • 2 drops cardamom essential oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered rose petals (I just blitzed a tiny amount of dried rose petals in my magic bullet)

  • 1 tiny pinch of red or pink mica (optional, but gives it a lovely color)

Directions

Simply measure all the ingredients out into a small bowl and mix together! That’s all there is to it. Package it up in a nice little glass jar or tin and it’s ready to use. This would make a lovely addition to any homemade gift basket, or even just the lip scrub along with some homemade lip balm. How fun would that be to get in the mail from a friend??

The lip scrub will last quite a long time as long as you are careful to not get any water in the jar. If water does get into the jar (by wet fingers for example) you will want to discard the scrub within about a week. Mold and bacteria can grow quite quickly when water is present, even though you may not be able to see it. Definitely don’t want any of that nastiness in your body!

How to use Cardamom Rose Lip Scrub

I like to turn the faucet on and get some nice warm water flowing. With one hand, gently moisten your lips with the warm water, and with your other DRY hand apply a little bit of the scrub. Gently exfoliate by making little circles on the lips with the scrub. Do not scrub hard as the lips are very tender. Just a little gentle massage is all that’s needed.

Once you feel you gently scrubbed all over your lips, rinse off with more warm water.

Add a little lip balm and enjoy your lovely soft lips!

Feel free to use this about 1 x week, but probably not more. Again, lips are very delicate and you don’t want to over exfoliate them.
