Green Tea Eye Cream to Reduce Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Apparently I'm on a kick using green tea in beauty products. :) You can check out my recipe for a lovely Green Tea Face Mask right here.

Today’s recipe features green tea in a lovely eye cream that will help reduce puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles. Hey, once you turn 30 the challenge becomes real dealing with all of the above. HA!

Green Tea Eye Cream

Ingredients

Directions

In a double boiler melt together the apricot oil, shea butter, and beeswax over medium heat. Be sure not to heat on too high of heat or the shea butter can turn grainy. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the vitamin E. Pour into small airtight containers.

Alternatively to the double boiler, fill a small saucepan with water and place a glass jar in the water. Add your ingredients to the glass jar and melt the ingredients that way.

How to use

After washing your face apply a small amount of the eye cream by dabbing gently underneath your eyes and on your eyelids. Use a moisturizer on the rest of your face like normal. The eye cream is definitely best used at night so it has time to really moisturize.

Benefits of the ingredients

Green Tea

All the delicious antioxidants found in green tea can also help the skin externally by reducing inflammation which helps reduce puffiness and delay the signs of aging. The tannins in green tea help to tighten and tone the skin, and the antibacterial properties can help eliminate acne.

Apricot Oil

Apricot oils is great for all skin types but especially those that are sensitive, inflames, dry, or prematurely aging.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a superb moisturizer and also helps to reduce inflammation. It helps to smooth the skin by boosting its natural production of collagen. This can help to reduce wrinkles and also to soften and nourish the skin.

Beeswax

The beeswax is what creates a stable solid. But it also acts as a moisturizer and helps lock in moisture as well.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps prevent free radical damage. It helps to reduce inflammation, repairs the skin, and is great for healing fine lines and wrinkles.
